Columbia’s staff is committed to the academic success of all our students.  We believe that each child has the potential to grow and learn.  We create a climate that invites all of our community to be a part of our school.  Each child is responsible for his or her own learning and our teachers help reinforce this.  Parents are always welcome to come in and be a part of their child’s education.

Columbia is a small downtown school.  We are close to the heart of Colorado Springs  in a diverse neighborhood.  Our student’s feel safe and welcome when they come to school.  We have a breakfast program before school, after-school drama and choir and we open our computer lab and gym to the community at least twice a month.  We have a very active PTCO and BAAC committee and they sponsor many activities throughout the year.

Columbia is a wonderful place for students to call home.  The positive environment leads to enthusiastic participation and helps students feel that they can succeed.  I am very thankful that I am a part of such a wonderful place.  The staff pledges to be committed to each and every student and we will be a part of a school that continues to bloom and grow.
