2009-2010 Supply Lists

The following is a list of suggested school supplies for students to bring to the back to school picnic or on the first day of school. Grade level teams of teachers have requested these supplies.  Individual teachers may have additional items needed for their respective classes throughout the school year.  Please do not purchase “trapper keepers” or 3-ring binders unless specified by an individual teacher.  Each student in first through fifth grades will use a Chipeta Assignment Notebook for the 2009-2010 school year.  These will be available through the classroom teachers the first day of school.  The Chipeta Assignment Notebooks are partially funded this year through a partnership with Albertson’s. 

Please make your check payable to Chipeta Elementary School. 

All money will be deposited in a school account.

KINDERGARTEN:                                             
     

$4.00 for Scholastic Let’s Find Out Magazine                             

1 bottle (4oz size) of white school glue

            4 glue sticks

            1 box of 24 crayons

            2 boxes magic markers:  1 bold colors/1 classic colors

            1 large box of tissues or 2 small boxes

1 box zipper seal sandwich bags and 2 boxes zipper seal gallon size bags (not the slide top, please)

            1 backpack or school book bag (standard student size)

            2 pocket folders for daily student use

            1 red pocket folder with prongs (with student name)

            1 box of pencils (please sharpen)

            2 dry erase markers (for student use)

Optional items:

These items are not required school supplies, but would be appreciated should your budget allow:

            2 packages of anti-bacterial wipes

            1 large container of hand sanitizer

            1 box of crackers (to use for snack)

FIRST GRADE: 

$8.00 ($5.00 for Scholastic News, $3.00 towards the cost of the agenda)

            20-#2 pencils, plain yellow, already sharpened please

            1 box crayons (24 count)

            1 4 oz. bottle white glue

            3 small glue sticks

            1 box 8 fat washable markers (regular, classic colors)

            2 wide-ruled spiral notebooks

            2 large pink erasers

            1 box reclosable quart size bags, gallon size or snack size

            1 pair student scissors (Fiskars preferred)

            1 large box facial tissue

            2 pocket folders

            1 school box (cigar-size box)

            6 pencil cap erasers

Optional items:

These items are not required school supplies, but would be appreciated should your budget allow:

1 to 3 dry-erase markers (for student use), and clean rag/sock for erasing

            1 package disinfecting wipes or 1 bottle hand sanitizer

SECOND GRADE: 

$8.00 ($5.00 pays for Time for Kids and $3.00 towards student agendas)

Please label all items with child's name using permanent marker.

            3 spiral notebooks, wide-lined (one each of red, blue & green)

            4 pocket folders (solid colors-one each of green,red,blue,yellow)

24 #2 pencils, more as needed (please sharpen first) – no mechanical pencils please

1 pencil sharpener with a tight shavings trap

1 large pink eraser

            1 box of crayons (24 count)

            1 box colored pencils (12 count)

           2 red pens

            2 yellow highlighters

            1 ruler (metric and inches)

            1 bottle white glue

            1 pair pointed metal scissors (Fiskars preferred)

            1 zippered pencil bag

            24 #2 pencils – pre-sharpened (no mechanical pencils please) – label with student name

            1 sock or rag (for dry erase board)

            1 box colored pencils (12 pencils)

            1 pair of pointed metal scissors

            2 boxes of facial tissues

            1 glue stick

            3 composition books (9 ¾” x 7 ½” size)

1 full size college level dictionary/thesaurus – i.e., Oxford American or American Heritage

            3 spiral notebooks (any color is fine)

            1 1-inch vinyl 3-ring binder (exact size please)

            1 1 ½ inch vinyl 3-ring binder with view pocket on the front (exact size please)

            1 small supply box (must fit in desk)

            1 plastic pencil pouch (hole punched for a binder with zipper)

            1 box zipper lock bags (boys bring quart size, girls bring 2-gallon size)

            1 package of classic color markers

            1 512 megabyte flash drive

            No pencil sharpeners please!

            1 package ¼” or 1 cm graph paper

These items are needed for Literature:

            1 college-level dictionary – i.e. Oxford American or Merriam Webster

            (The dictionary should have at least 50,000 words)

            1 college-level thesaurus

            1 package note cards, 3” x 5” or 4” x 6”
