Building Advisory Accountability Committee Monday, August 28, 2006 Minutes


1. Call to order at 6:30 pm RM 19

2. Attendance: Lori Butler, Dave Bergacker, Christine Benne, Tim O’Brien,
Anne Wolf, Julie Randall, Leah Landolfi, Troy Gedack,
Judy Brinkman

3. Minutes: meeting minutes from May to be approved at next meeting

4. Principal’s Report:

4.1 The first days of school went very well.

4.2 Chipeta has a current attendance of 385 students (end of year
projection of 375) Chipeta has permitted in 83 students and out 48 (33 of
them to Trailblazer)

4.3 Class totals (w/ 3 classes each) are as follows: K-57, 1st-65,
2nd-69, 3rd-62, 4th-66, 5th-68, Preschool 25, Adventure Club, AC
Preschool.

4.4 Chipeta has added 7 new staff members, 7 student teachers.

4.5 SIP Due Sept 15th. Troy Gedack along with Lori Butler will work on this and present
The training is Aug. 29 & 30 at Tessla.
All teams are updating goals and will present to staff.
BAAC will approve SIP at next meeting.

4.6 ILP’s these will be done the end of the quarter when testing is over.

4.7 CSAP Chipeta scores were higher in all areas and highest in D-11
Reading goal team to work with non-fiction comprehension and extended
writing in 4th and 5th grades. The each grade level will also align the
CSAP rubric for each grade. The grade levels team will work with writing
prompts for all students. Chipeta has been approved for 1 full day
tutor, 2- 1/2 day tutors, 3 afterschool tutors.

4.8 RTI’s This program is going very well going into the 2nd year. Chipeta
is a pilot site for this program.

5. Sub committee reports.

5.1 DAAC--Julie Randall will be attending meetings for Chipeta.

6. Capital Expense Projects- lunch table were put in this summer.
Lori is taking suggestions for expenditures. Some ideas include:white
boards for all the classrooms, update office, update bathrooms, mount TV’s
w/VCR/DVD.
