Meet Our Principal
Mrs. Cynthia Martinez
Welcome to Carver Elementary School. My name is Cynthia Martinez and I have been the Principal at Carver since the 2000-2001 school year. I have been an administrator in D-11 for the past 16 years working at both the elementary and secondary level. This is my 19th year in education and I truly love what I do! I hold a BA in Psychology and a M.A. in Special Education both from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Carver is a neighborhood/choice school serving kindergarten through fifth grade in the northeast corridor of Colorado Springs School District 11. At Carver we are dedicated to helping our students achieve their highest level of success in an environment that emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility, positive attitude, hard work, and safety.
Carver has an accountable, hardworking, friendly staff that cares about its students. The warm and friendly atmosphere is apparent when you first walk in the door.
We have a diverse student population that is representative of our society at large. Our students learn to work and play together and respect one another.
Our administrative and teaching staff shares a collaborative approach to decision making which is evident by our many leadership teams dedicated to providing our students with a quality education.
We foster a safe learning environment with consistent behavioral expectations for all students through the use of a school wide behavior model called Time to Teach and the Positive Behavior Support system. Through the use of the bully proofing curriculum, students learn to interact with others in a positive way.
At Carver, we believe that the needs of all students are everyone's responsibility; all students can learn and perform to the best of their ability; consistent high expectations of behavior will create a trusting, safe, and caring environment; and lifelong learning and respect for others should be modeled by all.
