- Curriculum development shall be the responsibility of the
professional staff. The leadership and coordination of the developmental process shall be
a special task of the division of instruction under the direction of the deputy
superintendent.

- Curriculum development shall be guided by such factors as:
- 1. Studies and information concerning the academic needs of
students in the school district

- 2. Current research, theory and proven practices
- As standards for student outcomes and performance are adopted,
the curriculum shall provide a program of instruction based on and designed to enable
students to meet the board-adopted standards.

- The Board of Education may provide opportunities for release
of professional staff to help in curriculum development through such devices as workshops,
student groups and assistance from professional consultants.

- After planning by the faculty and approval by the
administration, new courses shall be presented to the board for its approval/disapproval.
