dream school district with the support of the community
and under the leadership of the school staffs and
families. We have all the tools we need to grow the
change we imagine for School District 11.

attended Madison Elementary School, Irving Junior High
School, and graduated from Mitchell High School. She
holds a degree in Sports Medicine and has completed her
Geriatric Administration Certificate.

As a native of Colorado Springs, Chyrese has
established herself as an active community member on the
following committees; Colorado Springs Diversity Forum
Government and Public Affairs Committee; D-11’s
Eliminating the Achievement Gap Committee; Galileo
School of Math and Science Advisory Council; Parent
Sounding Board, Martinez BAAC Committee, Project NOW,
House District 14 candidate in 2008.

Her daughter graduated from the Palmer High School IB
program in 2007, and her son currently attends Jenkins
Middle School.

Priorities:
Aside
from continuing to address the issues faced by the
current school board, I would like to have a clear focus
on eliminating the achievement gap, increasing D-11
student enrollment, and encourage more involvement by
D-11 parents and the community.

Priorities:
Researchers have confirmed more teens are dropping out
of high school than is being reported and dropouts are
more likely to end up in jail. I am committed to using
my understanding of at-risk families and advanced
education to bring a new perspective to combat these
unfortunate truths.

Priorities:
I am a
native of Colorado Springs. My children and I graduated
from District 11, and my grandson is in District 11. I
have always worked and fought for a better quality of
life for all children. Issues for the coming year are
budget, school reconfiguration and boundaries.
