Class Grading
- 40 - 50 % of your grade may come from answering the
questions above. pay attention to the Extra Credit questions.
- Each section is worth the number of points toward
the credit stated In the column labeled "Potential Pts. Toward Credit."
- You must get 80% to pass a section, just
like all Bijou points attainment.
- Each test will be graded individually toward the
credit points. Each is worth 2 points, with noted exceptions.
- As weather and sky conditions permit, you may have
the opportunity go
outside to stargaze. Events that afford this opportunity may be found
locally, see the CSAS Site,
check their Calendar.
You may be quizzed on certain practical viewing skills, and your attendance
and attention will be assessed. 10%-20% of your grade.
- You may produce a web page on a limited subject. (See
the Web Page Project Guide for guidelines.)
- You will be assigned a planet, major moon,
nebulae, galaxies, cosmological topic, black
holes, or some other celestial topic depending, primarily, on your interest.
- You will use
Microsoft WORD
to make a web page (See
Make a Web Page
with WORD for help), or Microsoft FrontPage.
If you have another web-authoring program at your disposal, you may use it, but you will
have to do that work outside of school, since we have none here other than
WORD and FrontPage at this time.
If you have your own web page, that's great! I
will be happy to take a look at it, but you must produce your primary
work at school.
- You will find at least 6 sites that have information on
that particular celestial object, and produce an instructive page, including links and
pictures.
- Your web page will be completed at
a "B" level or above for credit. It will be worth 10-20%
of your grade.
- We will work together, you and I, to
determine which of the above percentages will be combined to equal 100%.
You are to have fun with this class! You are in charge of your
success! Live
Long and Prosper...
