"Our greatest glory is not in never failing,
but in rising up every time we fail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
MISSION
AND
Vision
Our mission at The Bijou
School is to develop students with academic, social, and workplace competencies
by providing individualized instruction in a supportive, alternative setting.
The alternative style of education offers:
Individualized and
small-group instruction.
Individualized,
personal and academic goal setting in a small-school environment.
Contract learning that
allows course content to be tailored to student needs and interests.
Flexible time
utilization, which permits the freedom to select a school schedule that can be
coordinated
with non-school obligations.
Progress that is
directly related to the performance commitment of the student.
The opportunity to
develop new, positive attitudes and habits about learning.
The opportunity to
develop job readiness and career skills.
Our students
choose to attend an alternative school.
In order for them to be successful,
they must assume responsibility for:
 |
their own academic progress,
|
 |
regular
attendance, |
 |
time management, and
|
 |
self-discipline.
