Jenkins Jazz Band Spring Dates

 

*Wednesday, April 9^th, 1:00 to 3:00pm-composer/performer, Darren Kramer with us for a clinic in the band room, all are welcome to watch! (*Jazz Band Members will miss 6^th hour) 

*Friday, April 11^th, 7:30am to 1:00pm-perform at Metropolitan State College Jazz Festival in Denver.

Drivers are needed. Bring lunch money. We perform at 9:30am. (*Jazz Band Members will be out of school) 

Friday, April 11^th, 1:30pm-perform in the gym for the student/staff basketball game.

*Tuesday, April 15^th, 9:00am to 2:00pm-8^th grade Symphonic Band to perform at Wasson for Large Group Festival (10:30am performance). We will ride a bus and the concert is open to the public. Bring lunch money. We could use 2 or 3 parent chaperones for this event, please. (*8^th grade symphonic band will be out of class most of the day) 

Saturday, April 19^th, 10:00am to 2:00pm-Jazz Band performs at USAF Arnold Hall for Jazz Festival. Drivers are needed. We are the only middle school band invited to perform at this first annual event. High School bands will perform from 8:00am to 1:00pm. We perform at 1:00pm. There is a clinic afterward and a free performance by the Falconaires at 7pm. 

*Wednesday, April 23^rd, 7:45am to 3:30pm-Jazz Band to perform at elementary schools. Drivers are needed. Bring money for lunch. 9:00 Rockrimmon 10:30 Scott 1:00 Martinez (*Jazz Band Members will be out of class until 2:00) 

Friday, April 25^th, 8:00am to 7:00pm-Jazz Band to Greeley for the UNC Jazz Festival. Drivers are needed. Bring money for lunch and dinner. We perform at 4:00pm. 

*Wednesday, April 30^th and Thursday, May 1^st-Jenkins Jazz Jamboree. We need parent volunteers for this big event. We have about 25 middle and high school bands coming to Jenkins to participate. Jazz Band II will perform on Wednesday at 2:50pm and Jazz Band I will perform on Thursday at 2:10pm. (*Jazz Band will miss 6^th & 7^th hours) 

*Friday, May 2^nd, 7:30am to 3:30pm-Jazz Band to Longmont for the Skyline Jazz Festival. This is our last competition with this amazing group. We perform at 11:00am. Parent drivers are needed. Bring lunch money. (*Jazz Band Members will be out of class all day) 

Wednesday, May 14^th 6:30pm-6th, 7^th and 8^th grade bands (not jazz) in their Spring Concert in the gym. Parent volunteers are needed to help put away equipment at the end of our concert. We will perform for the school during 7^th period this day in the gym. 

Monday, May 19^th, 4:00 to 6:00pm-Jazz Band to perform at Retirement Reception in the cafetorium at Jenkins. A CD will be recorded and for sale. 

Wednesday, May 21^st, 2:00 to 3:30pm-Jazz Band to perform at Jenkins for Award Ceremonies in the cafetorium. 

Friday, May 23^rd-Last day to register for the World’s Most Dangerous Summer Band.
