Meeting USDA Regulations

CSSD11 has responded to the Healthy Americans Act by implementing Nutrient Standard Menu planning that emphasizes healthy, lower fat school meals.

Our menu planning approach, also called NuMenus, combines nutritional analysis with age-based nutrient levels. It also requires compliance with specific targets for energy/calories, percent of total calories from fat, percent of total calories from saturated fat, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A and vitamin C.
