The ServSafe™ Plan in Colorado Springs School District 11Purpose: To have highly successful "Food Safety Systems" in Colorado Springs School District 11. Concept:
The Plan - ServSafe™ Food Safety In 2006, there were 228 reported cases of Foodborne Enteric Illnesses in El Paso County and many more went unreported. The potential for an outbreak of a foodborne illness in School District 11 is very real, considering over 3,000,000 meals are served annually by over 250 different “food handlers.” The National Restaurant Association’s “Servsafe™” food safety certification program is widely recognized as the best food safety program in the industry. ServSafe™ Food Protection Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI.)
Engaged participants have greater comprehension and have better application of food safety practices. As a part of our ongoing commitment to food safety in School District 11 Food & Nutrition Services, we have developed and implemented the ServSafe™ Food Protection Training System in our school district Food and Nutrition Services program.
All training costs associated with ServSafe™ training for CSSD11 FNS staff are paid by CSSD11 FNS. ServSafe™ certification is valid for five years. |
