U.S. Government Honors, Quarter 2

Overview
United States Government, Honors, is designed to enhance responsible and informed participation in civic life. This course will incorporate the Colorado civics content standards. Key themes will include the purpose of government and heritage of the United State government, comparative governments, the Constitution as a living document, political parties, citizenship roles, rights and responsibilities, state and local government and government involvement in world affairs. The honors course provides additional enrichment for college bound students. This enrichment includes more in-depth analysis of the topics and independent projects. Supplemental materials would include increased use of primary sources and advanced level readings.
