Election Day:
November 4, 2008 |
|
Overview
The 2008 election will be a significant event in our
country's history. Either the nation will elect its first President of
African American descent or its first female Vice President. In addition to
the presidential election, voters across America will also be choosing
national, state, and local officials and voicing their support or opposition
on national, state, and local issues.
Election resources are provided below. These are reputable web
sites with information on the election process, past and present elections,
polls, issues and more. These can be
explored to provide lessons and activities for students at anytime during the build up to Election Day 2008.
In addition, the
Superintendent's memo and district policies related to teaching about the
election should be reviewed.
