what new words you want it to learn. Point to each
picture and say, "This is my mother. This is my madre."

what new words you want it to learn. This time you will
make a full Spanish sentence using the words, "Este es
mi or this is my..." Point to each picture and say,

have one Spanish word.
- Check the spelling of each word.

English vocabulary words or math families, or other basic
content by completing their own bingo cards. Dried beans
can be used as playing pieces. Use dried
beans, pennies or other small objects as playing cards.
Your parent, teacher or a friend will call out words
from the Family Members Vocabulary list. If you have a
matching word, say it, aloud then spell it. If you are
correct, place a bean or other object on the
square. The winner will be the first player to win a row
across, a column down or diagonal row.

- Now, go to
Meet My Family Quizlet and play either Space Race or
Scatter until you feel that you are ready to take the
test.
- Finally, take the online test on the
Meet My Family Quizlet. E-mail your score to your
teacher. You can take the test as many times as you want
to to keep improving your score. We want you to be very
successful. When you finish, you will have learned the
most important first set of vocabulary words. You will
use these words many times as you speak Spanish with
others.

Story Told in Spanish.
As you listen to the story, see how many words you
recognize. Since this story is familiar to you, you may
have a better idea of Spanish words that are used to
describe people, places, and things. Even though you may
not understand every word, listen to how the words are
pronounced and hear how the Spanish language flows. The
first time you hear someone tell a story in Spanish, you
may feel lost. As you learn more vocabulary words, you
will be able to listen to a story and pick out more and
more words that make sense to you.

Would I Find Guessing Game. Use the
deck of cards cut out from a printed copy of the
House Things document. First
cut the pages into playing cards. You will be able to
use these cards for many games in the future, so keep
them in a plastic baggie or wrap them with a rubberband.
You will need two or more players. Turn the deck of
cards face down. The first player turns over a card and
says, "Where would I find a ____? Read the word on the
card. If the player is correct in where the item would
be found, he or she can keep the card. If the answer is
incorrect, the next player must try to answer where the
item would be found. Keep playing until the entire deck
of cards has been played. The player with the most cards
is the winner.
Differentiation
Extension: Think of other games you can play with
the deck of cards that will help you learn the vocabulary
cards and the rooms of the house.
Support: Play Go Fish or Old Maid with the deck of
House Things cards. The instructions card can be the Old
Maid.

word list below. Choose 16 word pairs from the list of
word pairs below. Print the
Beango Card
then write the Spanish and English words in one of the
boxes on the card. You will only use 16 word pairs from
the list. Make several Beango cards with different sets
of words on each card. this will be a great way for you
to practice writing the pairs of words. When you have
made several cards, you are ready to play Beango with
your family or friends. One person will need to call out
a word pair from the list. If you have the matching pair
on your card, cover it with a pinto or dried bean. The
first player to win get four in a row is the winner.
