Philosophy
The
"Success First" Alternative School is a
non-traditional educational environment dedicated to meeting the needs
of students who are no longer able or choose not to participate in a
traditional school environment, yet desire an opportunity to complete
their education.
To meet
these needs, school personnel will provide a structured, nurturing
environment in which all students will be given an opportunity to obtain
credits toward graduation in an atmosphere which fosters personal growth
and achievement. The program has basic goals centering on building
personal pride and accomplishments so that students will be able to meet
the challenges and responsibilities of today’s society and enhance a
desire for life-long learning.
Goals
1.
To provide a program in which 120 students are given the opportunity to
obtain credits
toward graduation.
2.
To provide a program which increases a student’s desire to regularly
participate in
educational endeavors.
3.
To provide a program in which each student is a highly valued individual
who is given
an opportunity for positive growth both
academically and socially.
4.
To provide a dynamic, motivating curriculum in which the needs of the
individual
student can be met.
5. To
provide a program which prepares students to be successfully
contributing
members of the community.
