Novice I
Directed at the new computer user, this class provides
a basic understanding of Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system to include
system hardware and software. Topics include the desktop, parts of the window,
moving and sizing windows, My Documents and My Computer, files, folders, drives,
data storage, file maintenance, and an overview of computer parts and
peripherals, such as printers. This class is strong on computer terminology
associated with the use of Microsoft products and helps the student to learn the
difference between the operating system and applications. This class also
provides a basic understanding of the Internet. Topics include modems (56k, DSL,
and cable), Web browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape), Internet service
providers, surfing strategies, secure transactions, cookies, anti-virus software
and firewalls.

Novice II
This course follows Computer Novice I. It covers the basic
use of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and PowerPoint utilizing Office 2000. MS Word
covers creating, saving, and finding files; working with menus and toolbars,
inserting text, basic formatting, drawing objects, and many other topics
essential in the day-to-day use. MS Excel includes a basic understanding of
Excel 2000, Microsoft’s powerful spreadsheet application. Areas discussed
include the Excel 2000 environment, entering and editing data, using simple
formulas, using functions, formatting text and numbers, working with multiple
worksheets, creating charts, and printing spreadsheets. MS PowerPoint provides a
solid foundation for using Power Point 2000, Microsoft’s presentation
application. Topics include creating a presentation, inserting objects and
hyperlinks, adding animation and many other subjects essential in the use of
PowerPoint 2000.

introductory class, you will learn some basic dance moves taken from Middle
Eastern and North African folkloric dance from our well-trained instructor.
There will be an emphasis on posture, body isolations, and learning to move with
mindfulness, class and grace. No previous dance experience is needed. Wear a

Piecing for Quilts
Have you ever
wanted to make a quilt, but were daunted by the intricate patterns? Perhaps you
are a more experienced quilter who wants to learn a new technique? This
class will cover the basics of “foundation piecing”, also known as “paper
piecing.” This technique uses only straight stitching and assures accurate
seams and perfect placement for many quilt block designs. We will also
troubleshoot problems you have with your "homework," and you will
learn how to design your own foundation pieced blocks for a truly unique
and creative experience. Bringing a sewing machine is optional. Pay the

fencing including the major guards, attacks, mutation of attacks and traditional

are a number of resources available to you that provide strategies and tips for
getting out of credit card and other debt. Many
times, people just don’t know where to begin.
The instructor will give you simple ways to get started, and procedures
for becoming completely debt free—without credit counseling or debt-management
services. Information and a list of
